South Africa’s Top 10 Companies to Work for and Advance Your Career.

LinkedIn compiled a list of top companies that are investing in their employees and also assisting them in developing careers that will lead to long-term success.

OVERVIEW

Workplaces continue to change right in front of our eyes. In 2021, professionals all over the world moved jobs at unprecedented rates and therefore, to attract and retain talent; businesses have had to go above and beyond, that is, from providing more opportunities for advancement and learning new skills to increasing flexibility.

This was also true in South Africa, where a survey found that staff turnover increased by 16 percent across all industries last year, and nearly a third of respondents said they struggled to attract new or retain existing talent. Employees and job seekers are in the driver’s seat as a result of the numerous changes, prompting them to reconsider what they expect from an employer today.

With this in mind, this is the first annual ranking of the best workplaces to grow your career in South Africa; all based on unique LinkedIn data. It debuts alongside Kenya’s and Nigeria’s Top Companies lists. These are the top 10 companies that provide stability in our ever-changing workplace – the ones that not only attract but also retain employees.

Furthermore, to compile this year’s rankings, LinkedIn examined data from seven different pillars, each revealing an important aspect of professional advancement: ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity and spread of educational backgrounds.

This list is intended to serve as a resource for you, guiding professionals at all stages of their careers – whether it’s making a career change, returning to work after a break, or investing in new skills. You’ll learn about the most in-demand roles and skills, as well as the best locations, at each company.
