Package for phantom x2

  • Type-c charging cable
  • Type-c earphones
  • Phone case

Design

The standout feature is the large camera island. Phantom X2 has a 6.8-inch OLED, 20:9 ratio screen. Back options include glass or recycled vegan leather. Curved display, 1080 x 2400 resolution, 500 nits’ brightness, 120Hz refresh rate.

At the back’s bottom, lies the attractive “PHANTOM” text. Connecting panels on the sides offer a pleasing grip. Tecno’s “unibody double-curved design” feels premium, weighing 203g. However, weight distribution falters due to the camera island.

The right side holds red-accented volume and power buttons. The top has a secondary noise-canceling mic. The bottom includes a speaker, USB-C, SIM tray, and mic. Lacks an IP68 rating, so caution is advised.

Display

The vibrancy, angles, animations, and sharpness is great. Yet, 500 nits’ brightness falls short of 2023 flagships. Dim outdoors, unlike iPhone or Samsung. The display is fine outdoors with Gorilla Glass Victus, and 2 color modes: Bright and Original.

The curved AMOLED display provides stunning visuals. In comparison, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro falls short in certain aspects.

Phantom X2’s Widevine L1 support is valuable for HD streaming on Netflix, and Amazon Prime. Offers 3 refresh rate modes: Auto, 60Hz, 120Hz.

Hardware

Driving the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC, a high-end 5G-enabled chip with:

  • 1 x Cortex-X2 core (up to 3 GHz)
  • 3 x A710 cores (up to 2.85 GHz)
  • 4 x Cortex-A510 cores (up to 1.8 GHz) Manufactured using a 4nm process at TSMC, it competes well with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for top performance.

Phantom 2’s single loudspeaker offers decent music at all volumes. Call and video sound is average. Strong connectivity, full signals. Bluetooth works well with wireless headphones; GPS is instant.

During the Geekbench test, the device peaked at around 39°C, acceptable. Scores: 1241 Single Core, 4130 Multi-Core. In CPU throttling, it dropped to 79% of max performance.

Camera

The standout reason to choose Tecno Phantom X2 is its impressive triple camera, loaded with youth-oriented features:

The retractable portrait camera showcases an innovative design.

TECNO’s camera investment shines; AR Shot, Animoji, face transformation, portrait restore, and impressive bokeh stand out.

The intuitive camera app enhances photography, providing convenient controls and settings.

Phantom X2 enhances Super Night Mode 3.0: AI Scene Light Detection, Multi-frame Fusion, and Touch-up Restoration. Brightens low-light shots. Ring Screen Fill-in Light for even low-light face illumination.

HDR/Super Night/Panorama modes are supported. Capture 120/240fps Slow Motion, 2K lapse, and impressive Panoramas. AI Beauty trims body parts. Slim down with a button taps!

Daylight pictures impress despite extra cameras. The main sensor excels; unsure if depth/AI lenses contribute. Multi-camera trend drives sales. Night mode enhances low-light shots. Overall, the camera performance is satisfactory.

Video stabilization is strong. Ultra-wide lens and low-light portrait focus are weak points. Nonetheless, Tecno competes well.

The phone’s retractable camera system adds a touch of innovation, providing impressive photography capabilities without compromising the sleek look.

The Phantom X2 Pro impresses with its versatile camera setup, which includes a powerful telephoto lens and a dedicated portrait lens.

The camera module shines with standout features like an advanced portrait mode, capturing stunning photos with bokeh effects.

The 64MP camera captures detailed shots, while the advanced zoom capabilities add versatility to your photography.

Software

Android 12 on the phone is impressive at this price. Familiar with HIOS from previous use. Full ROM functionality, though some bloatware and ads like other mid-range phones. No major bugs; with refinement, HIOS could rival other skins.

Abundant customization: theme shop, dark mode. Apps like Phone Master, AI Gallery, Hi Browser, and Instant Apps. Community, tools, music, data share apps. Notifications are crowded with info and ads. Fortunately, Google Services included; unused apps removable. In 20-30 minutes, the software becomes lighter and user-friendly.

HIOS is likely to improve, meeting user needs with speed and low energy. Hope for continued phone updates. Yet, Tecno’s update history and Android 12’s age raise concerns about Android 13.

TECNO’s software and large 5,160 mAh battery offer 2-day light or 1-day medium use. Solid 7–8-hour SOT.

Battery life

TECNO’s added software complements the 5,160 mAh battery for 2-day light or 1-day medium use. SOT achieves an impressive 7-8 hours.

Charging speed pleased me. A new 45W Type-C charger adds value. 0%-50% in 19 mins, 0%-100% in 59 mins. No wireless charging disappoints enthusiasts.

TECNO’s added software complements the 5,160 mAh battery for 2-day light or 1-day medium use. SOT achieves an impressive 7-8 hours.

The Phantom X2 Pro impresses with its cutting-edge features. The inclusion of USB Type-C and 5G capabilities enhances connectivity.

Verdict

TECNO’s boldest project: high hype, performance. Eye-catching design, innovative camera tech. Meets social media photography needs. The main camera is solid but lacks stabilization and clear video sound.

The well-placed volume rocker adds usability to the device. With the Phantom X2 Pro, you experience a harmonious blend of endurance, functionality, and user-friendly features.
